Kathi Witt -
Ouiser
Kathi is a newcomer to
Patuxent Playhouse this season. She comes to us via the
Eastern Shore of Virginia, upstate New York, and West
Virginia. School and community theatre has been a part of her
life since she was 6 years old (with a 15 year hiatus while
raising her 2 children). She has become active in theatre once
again, over the last few years since her children have flown
the nest! Having lived in Calvert County for only 7 weeks,
Kathi already loves it here and is anxious to be active in the
community, especially engaging in her theatrical hobby. "Ouiser
is a terrifically fun character to play and working with such
a wonderful ensemble cast for this show is truly an honor. I'm
looking forward to being involved with Patuxent Playhouse for
as long as I am in Calvert County. Enjoy the show!" |

Director's
Note |
Director's Note:
Steel Magnolias rewards a director for the task of giving shape to
that which is central to life and joy: participation in
relationships. It is the production's desire that through the lives,
loves, and trust of six women that you, the audience, will also
share in the treasure that is
relationship. There is little which compares to the strength others
give to each other than acceptance and faith in the caring of
friends, authentic friendship. This story mirrors everyone's personal
stories of trial, difficulty, and triumph. Share your heart with us
and witness life. We can meet each other, be willing to share,
perhaps to be made new for life yet ahead. |
About
Wayne:
Wayne has
participated in many facets of theatrical production, both on and
off stage, for most of his life. Since moving to Calvert County in
1989 he has appeared in several Patuxent Playhouse shows and
collaborated with local several producers.
Wayne considers the
drama team "The Edge" at Chesapeake Church in Huntingtown
to be his resident troupe. "I believe Steel
Magnolias portrays one of life's greatest treasures: the value
of strong, authentic, unwavering relationships. Life is beautiful,
sometimes long, and tough. No one survives alone. And we are not
meant to be alone." |
